FALLS PREVENTION: Step up to stop falls!!


11th Falls Prevention Awareness Day on 22 September 2018


Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for Senior Citizens all over the world. Among the older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths, unintentional injuries & hospital admissions for trauma. It can take a serious impost on older adults’ quality of life and Independence.
However, falling is not an inevitable result of aging. Through practical lifestyle adjustments, evidence-based falls prevention programmes and clinical-community partnerships, the number of falls among seniors can be substantially reduced.
A growing number of older adults fear falling and as a result, limit their activities and social engagements. As Falls with or without injury, also carry a heavy quality of life impact and results in further physical decline, depression, social isolation and feelings of helplessness.
Focussing on the extreme need & the requirement of the Falls Prevention Programme. An Institute named as Fall [S} Institute of India [FII] has been formed for falls related all issues.
Dr Sanjay Bajaj is the Chief Innovation Officer [CIO] & Founder, Dr Sushrat Rajan is the Co-Founder of this institute.

This is the 1st Institute in the world meant only for Prevention, Diagnosis & Treatment of Fall Disease [FD]


Various Adventurous Activities have been organized on the Falls Prevention Day 22nd September 2018 at Bezanbagh, Hall & Ground of Pragatishil Kamgar Gruha Nirman,Nagpur (from 6.00 am to 12 pm)
Important Events Arranged on the Falls Prevention Awareness Day:
Running Race Competition
A running race competition is organized for the older adults including both male & female participants. For females above 55 years of age (in 3 categories) and for males above 60 years of age (in 3 categories)
For special appearance and for the motivation and encouragement for the older adults, Dr Diwakar Bhoyar, 74-year-old fastest running doctor in India will be the judge for this event.
The Registration fee is Rs 51/-only.

Multipurpose Diagnostic Camp
A multipurpose diagnostic camp only for Senior Citizens is organized. In this camp BMD, B.P, Random Blood Glucose, Lipid Profile, Eye examination, Foot Scan has been organized between 8.am to 11 a.m. Registration is completely free. Dr.Sudhir Bhatnagar’s Consultant Physician, Abhinav Hospital will be providing all the major services in this camp.

CME on Falls Prevention
A health related talk for spreading the awareness about Falls Prevention has been organized from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The speakers would be Dr.Sadanand Thote, Podiatrician, Arc.Ravi Nafde, Dr Sanjay Bajaj, Falls Prevention Expert, Dr Sushrut Ranjan, Join Replacement Surgeon & Mrs.Ishani Nandekar Upare, Yoga Alliance USA certified Yoga Teacher.
